التسمية الآرامية الخاطئة
وأخيرا، هناك بعض المنطق السائد في التسلسل الهرمي الأكاديمي

عن الارتباك الأكاديمي فيما يتعلق باللغة الآشورية واستخدام مصطلح الآرامية
حان الوقت لتحقيق العدالة للآشوريين واللغة الآشورية
لقد تحدث الآشوريون دائمًا بلغتهم، اللغة الآشورية
ومثال مماثل نجده مع الشعب اليهودي الذي يسمي لغته “العبرية” رغم أنه استخدم في البداية الكتابة الفينيقية (الآرامية) ثم الكتابة الآشورية
تحول اليهود من العبرية القديمة (عبرية التوراة) إلى العبرية الحديثة والآن إلى العبرية الإسرائيلية
وبالمثل، مرت اللغة الآشورية بمراحل مختلفة من التطور والتأثيرات الثقافية وغيرها، وتُسمى الآن باللغة الآشورية الحديثة
الآرامية الجديدة مصطلح مضلل
اللغة الآشورية لم تتوقف أبدا. استمر استخدامها وتحدثها وتعليمها
ولهذا السبب يجب أن نستخدم المصطلح الآشوري الحديث
يتم تعريف المجتمع الأكاديمي ببطء على هذه الحقائق التي لم يعرفون عنها شيئًا سابقا
اللغة الآشورية (والتي تسمى حاليًا “الآرامية الحديثة”) يتحدث بها جميع الآشوريين سواء كانوا ينتمون إلى الكنائس الآشورية أو الكنيسة الكلدانية أو الكنائس السريانية. وهم جميعا يشكلون المجتمع الآشوري
كان الآشوريون القدماء ثنائيي اللغة
لذلك؛ اللغة التي يتحدث بها الآشوريون يجب أن تسمى “اللغة الآشورية”. بغض النظر عن البرنامج النصي المستخدم
استخدمت الآرامية النص الفينيقي على أي حال
العديد من الكتب المكتوبة بشكل خاطئ أعطت الانطباع بأن الآشوريين قد اختفوا
وهذا هو السبب الذي دفع بعض العلماء إلى عدم قبول استخدام مصطلح اللغة الآشورية
الآشوريون موجودون بكثرة، ولهم الحق في تسمية لغتهم باللغة الآشورية
يمكن طرح نفس السؤال على الأسبان والإيطاليين لماذا لا تسمى لغتهم اللاتينية
(Lingua Latina) والحقيقة هي أن هذه اللغات تأتي من اللاتينية
الشعب الآشوري موجود. الأمة الآشورية موجودة. اللغة الآشورية موجودة
يجب علينا (الأكاديميين) أن نحترم الآشوريين وأن نسمي لغتهم اللغة الآشورية

إفريم يلديز ساداك هو أستاذ متفرغ في كلية فقه اللغة، قسم الدراسات العبرية والآرامية، بجامعة سالامانكا. وهو متخصص في التاريخ واللغة والأدب الآرامي. وهو عضو في لجنة الدرجة في الدراسات العبرية والآرامية. وهو عضو في لجان العديد من المجلات العلمية، وهو مؤلف (مشارك) لكتب ومقالات في مجلات حول اللغة الآرامية وأدبها وتاريخها وثقافتها للشعوب الناطقة باللغة الآرامية. شغل البروفيسور يلدز منصب نائب رئيس الجامعة للعلاقات الدولية في جامعة سالامانكا من عام 2017 إلى عام 2022.

It is about time to do justice to Assyrians and the Assyrian Language
Assyrian always spoke their language, the Assyrian Language
Similar example is seen with the Jewish people who call their language “Hebrew” even though they used initially Phoenician (Aramaic) scripts then the Assyrian script
The Jews shifted from Old (Biblical Hebrew to Modern Hebrew and now to Israeli Hebrew
Similarly, the Assyrian Language transitioned through various stages of developments and cultural and other influences and now is called Modern Assyrian
Neo-Aramaic is a misleading term
The Assyrian Language has never stopped. It continued to be used, spoken, and taught
That is why we should use the term Modern Assyrian
Academic society is being introduced slowly to these facts that they don’t know about
The Assyrian Language (currently called ‘Modern Aramaic) is spoken by all Assyrians whether they belong to the Assyrian Churches, the Chaldean Church, or the Syriac Churches. They all constitute the Assyrian Community
Ancient Assyrians were bilingual
Therefore, the language spoken by Assyrians must be called the “Assyrian Language.” irrespective of the script used
The Aramaic used Phoenician script, anyways
Many wrongly written books gave the impression that the Assyrians disappeared
That was the reason that led some scholars to not accept the use of the term Assyrian Language
Assyrians very much exist, and they have the right call their language the Assyrian Language
Same question can be asked to Spanish and Italians as to why their language is not called Latin (Lingua Latina)!? The fact is these languages originate from Latin
Assyrian people exist. Assyrian nation exists. Assyrian Language exists
We (academics) must be respectful to Assyrians and call their language the Assyrian Language

He is specialised in Aramaic history, language and literature. He is a member of the Commission of the Degree in Hebrew and Aramaic Studies. He is a committee member of several scientific journals, the (co-)author of books and articles in journals on Aramaic language, literature, history and culture of the Aramaic-speaking peoples. Prof Yildiz served as Vice-Rector for International Relations at the University of Salamanca from 2017 to 2022
